Difficulty with distributor connector

Hi all,
I hope you can help me with a simple question. I installed a new distributor and did not pay attention to the coil connector. The picture shows my current set up. Could anybody tell me if correct or incorrect. The brown wire in the connector closest to the cap, it is the first wire on the left side of the connector.
thanks in advanced !

Re: Difficulty with distributor connector

That is correct.

Red is +12V; black is ground; brown is the coil — lead. The ICM grounds that for a certain # of milliseconds to cause current to flow in the coil which builds up magnetism (stores energy) in the iron of the coil, then switches off (stops current flow) which causes the magnetic field to collapse, releasing its energy in a way that creates the spark. The white wire from the car that you plug in goes to the tach and looks at how often all of that happens which of curse is RPM. The pink that you plug in is the +12V power supply from the car.

Re: Difficulty with distributor connector

Thanks sofa! Always helpful! I can then assume that the connection appears correct in the pic?
