Holley Sniper EFI + Aeromotive Sending Unit Fuel Question
Hi - I have a 1982 Trans Am that I am converting over to the Holley Sniper EFI 4BBL setup. In doing that, I'll need (and prefer) and in tank fuel pump, so I am looking at Aeromotive's all in one fuel pump/sending unit combo here:
This unit only has ports for fuel supply, fuel return and vent. My factory sending unit has those 3, plus a line for the vapor canister.
My question is this - Should/can that vent port go to the vapor canister, or should I have it go to the vent located in the rear of the car near the tank?
1. Vent port to rear vent near gas tank, eliminate vapor canister
2. Vent port to vapor canister, vented gas cap?
3. Another option?

Thanks, I did consider that. I actually have a Holley 340 LPH in tank pump and a brand new sending unit for a FI Trans Am. The wiring on the pump is much beefer that the wiring on the sending unit. Assuming you ran all new, heavier gauge wiring? Did you change out the plug/fitting I've circled below to something different?

This pass-through in the Hat is shown to terminate with the 3rd-Gen stock 3-Way Weather-Pack Connector that is Keyed correctly and built with a CPA option (uses the Stock Bulk-Head in the back of the Car).

If your going to go EFI you wont need the canister.

Normally the Canister would be used with the Vent Valve, just like 4th-Gen F-Bodies had from the Factory.
The 4th-Gen Fuel Tank, has the Can and Vent Valve on top of the Fuel Tank.
Aftermarket EFI systems, like Holley EFI do not use any Emissions Equipment...
So if you needed to Pass State or Federal Emissions, you would have to add the Can and Vent Valve to be controlled by a Factory PCM with Holley EFI "Piggy-Backed".
If Emissions Equipment is not needed... HP Tuners can Edit Factory PCM Software to operate without the Emissions Equipment.
Or Aftermarket/ Holley EFI can be used.
