intake install questions inside

im about to take my intake off to either replace it with a edlebrock TBI manifold or just to reseal it because its leaking...what am i gonna have to remove? the tbi, distributer(how?) and all the hoses that are in the way...is that it? also what should i use to seal it and what gaskets am i gonna need? think i can do this in one day?

i use ultragray RTV for the china wall gaskets instead of the rubber seals. i use k&w copper sealer in a spray can for the long gaskets. mark the distributor or referance it to something, #1 on compression is a good place. drain the water/coolent befroe you start and change the oil when you're done. buy a manual if you don't have one so you can see the pics and have all the specs and such before you start.

Ede pretty well covered the whole procedure. As long as you put the distributor back in exactly the way you pulled it out (i.e. not getting the engine out of time), you should be able to do the job in a few hours. Also, you probably won't need to remove the throttle body from the intake unless it gets in the way of removing any of the intake manifold bolts. If you can do it without removing the throttle body, there's one less gasket you'll have to buy. If you have a universal joint in your socket set, you should be able to get the middle intake bolts out with the throttle body still in place.

im probably gonna replace the intake with a edelbrock so ill have to take it off anyways...would i notice any performance if i bumped the timing up some? i know a buddy of mine did it in his mustang and it seemed to help
