I just got the '76 back from the paint shop and after driving it for a bit i wanted to feel the power of the 355 again so i punched it at a stop sign and it felt like as it was going through the rpms it was dropping power and picking it up quick while i was flooring it the whole time. Once i shifted it into a second it bogged for a second then stopped and took off again, so i backed off the throttle, what could it be, my carb running lean?? or tranny slipping? Thanks guys i know its not thirdgen but i have a thirdgen and my firebird is just the older brother

That also happened to me a few weeks ago after getting mine back from the paint shop. It might have something to do with the heat they use to cook the paint. ??? maybe. I am not really sure. The car hasn't done it since though so I'm not worried about it.
