Tachometer pinned??
Just finished a steering column swap and everything seems to be working as it should except for some reason my tach is pinned at max? Any idea why a column swap would cause this?
Thanks!

The needle may be over-centered. Try starting it and revving to 5K RPM. That might pull the needle back to where it should be.

Did you take the cluster out while doing the swap? If so, the cluster may not be seated in the 2 connectors correctly (where they just push into), or you may have a bad/dirty/varnished connection on the contact. Try pulling it out some and pushing it back in to get a better connection, and or cleaning the contacts from where the back of the cluster mates with the 2 connectors in the dash. You can also take the plexiglass cover over the gauges of by unscrewing the little screws holding it on, and gently tapping the needle back down to reset it's position, then key it on to see if it works ok.
