Internally balanced 383 Flywheel???
Quick question,I think I know the awnser but i want to verify it....I'm building a 383 using the SCAT internally balanced crank for a 1 piece rear seal block....question is do I use a neutral balance flywheel or the stock style flywheel with the counterweight?...I believe I'm suppose to use the stock style flywheel with the counterweight simply because the L98 are internally balanced but still use the counterweights due to the crank style??? Right or wrong? This is the flywheel i want to use...

since you have a 1 piece crank seal you'd want a flywheel with the bat wing weight on it, it'sstill an internally balanced flywheel even with the weight. the weight is to replace the mass lost when they removed the flange at the end of the crank. even thought it is internally balanced the flange added mass to the fly wheel end and had to be replaced. best to check with your engine builder before you buy any parts.
