ECM

Where is the ecm located? Is that the main computer on our cars? Where is the eprom located?

Passenger side, in the dash. Contort yourself around so you can look up from the passenger floorboard, and you'll see it close to the passenger side of the car. EPROM is IN the ECM.

ECM is just above the passenger's knees. Bolts to the bottom edge of the dash over there with acoupla screws. It's a box about 6" wide by 9" tall by maybe 1½" thick, with a white plastic bracket holding it in place.

EPROM plugs into it.

Yes it is the main computer. The ONLY one in fact. Gotta remember, these cars were built when such things were in their newborn infancy.

What information would I need to try and find a replacement?

They rarely go bad. They can, of course; just, it's REALLY rare.

What makes you think you need one?

Man I am so lost. I have no idea what to do next. I wish there was someone that lived close to me that would be willing to come and look at it. I can’t drive the dang thing.
