See the below link to an archive.org page allowing free legal checkout of the Chilton's 1982-1990 Firebird Repair Manual. It's pretty well searchable for finding what you need. I just checked it out and used it this morning and it was very easy to use.

Thank you for sharing this Repair Manual. It’s really very helpful for me. The only thing is, I had to convert it to another format using the online tool https://pdfguru.com/jfif-to-jpg since I couldn’t open it. I usually use it at work to convert JFIF to JPG to speed up image uploads to websites. This online tool handles such tasks perfectly. It might be useful for you as well if you encounter a similar problem.
