I bought this fuel pump More Information for CARTER P90018 for my RS 305ci 90 but it makes a loud whistle and i don't know if that is normal or not...

Someone knows?

 

Whistle? I've heard them squeal a little when dead-headed, or about to fail. Can you record/post an audio clip?

Just as a reminder, the fuel pump is new.

 

New doesn’t imply it’s any good

 

If that higher-pitched (about 2 kHz?) sound can be traced to the fuel pump alone, it still might not be a problem. Some early Bosch and Datsun EFI systems had turbine fuel pumps which exhibited a high-pitched whine and lasted forever.

 

I don't know if you have access to the mp3 file in my first comment? The sound is indeed high pitchted.
I don't think there is any issue with it, the pressure is ok and the car turn's well but i hate that sound!
