Help! Need others input on possible purchase
Hi everyone! I don't really know a whole lot about IROC's so I'm asking for some help on a possible purchase, this is what the seller has said "$8,500 OBO. 127k miles 1989 iroc-z Camaro. 5.0TPI automatic transmission. Runs and drives great. Small dents and paint isn't perfect. Vehicle is all original. clean title. I have owned it for 15 years and it's time for someone else to enjoy. I am the 3rd owner of the vehicle, Nothing major has been done to it since I've owned it, did just put 1400 into it with getting some new sensors put in/fuel pump last fall to get her running nice and smooth. She does have a shift kit."
I'm just asking do you guys think the price is about right? I paid about $1500 for my 84' berlinetta 2 years ago.

You know the old saying; it's worth what the market will pay for it! I troll craigslist pretty frequently in Dallas, looking for Thirdgens; not that I need another one! Not too many appear. Are they getting rare? Hardly, they were the second most produced generation of F Bodies next to the 2nd Gen. I like the hard top (I have TTops), and the G80 option, so these are pluses for me. It "appears" to be solid, but who knows by pictures? I think the real question is, what do you think it's worth and what are your plans for it? Complete some routine maintenance, get some new tires, shine it up and enjoy? Is it a weekend toy? Are you planning on getting it painted? All these things really are your choices. What's important to me (working HVAC, non hacked up, no rust, decent presentable interior) may not be what's important to you... What would I pay? If I was looking at it and all my boxes were checked? Maybe offer him $6500? But I dragged mine home (not running) on a flatbed 5 years ago for $1500. And I am sure I have at least $3500 in parts/tires/etc (don't want to add it all up)! But I was looking for a project when I got mine..

Well it's not All original and it looks a tad on the rough side with high miles. My I think $8500 is too much for this condition and miles. With that said in today's market it's probably worth it considering a clean example in great shape would go for twice as much. If it was me I would try to get it for $7500.
