I have a 92 rs 5.0 automatic transmission camaro. I just had a new fuel pump put in and it has been running great for a month now. The other day I started it and it ran for about 5 seconds then shut off .I tried cranking it and it turns over great just no start,just looking for a little advice before taking it to expensive mechanic.

 

What are the basics ? Spark , fuel pressure and injector pulse. What’s missing?

 

I don't know how to test any of that are there any easy way to test this should I go buy a code reader or "computer tester " ?

 

Get a spark tester, fuel pressure gauge with tbi inline adapter and noid light. You will need a helper to see spark and injector noid while cranking the engine.

Unfortunately, there is no "easy way" besides paying someone that knows or learning yourself.
