Has anyone removed the throttle body sheave on an LT1, for example? I need to replace the one I bought , OEM GM, due to having wrong year type linkage attachment.
Or any in depth rebuilding of throttle body, ie bushings etc too will help

Removing may not be the difficult part. The end of the double-flatted throttle shaft on an LT1 can be ground so that the cable sheave can be pulled off, and then the bobbin and spring. Reattaching a replacement can be a different thing altogether. A drilled/tapped hole in the end of the shaft can be accomplished pretty easily, but getting a fastener to stay in place might be a greater challenge considering the forces on the bellcrank.

 

Thnx for the heads up and such. I saw how TPIS and Professional Products? did it years ago. TPIS looks solid with a nut on there. I think a tac weld would be best once you put it on.
I found an old TPIS throttle body for sale, a 52mm, but its still pricey..
I will work the one I have when it arrives.
