Larger than normal schrader valve in R12 high side port?

So I'm in the process of going through the AC on my car, and I can hear the port on the high side leaking. But I can't remove the valve because it has a super long stem that seems wider than normal? What kind of tool do I use to take this out, and is it actually a different size schrader valve?

I ran into that exact Schrader valve.

Amazon Amazon

The above Amazon kit had a new, large valve.

I have one of these in my toolbox.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/A-C-Schrade...C/173954650820

There's also a tool that allows you to replace the valve without evacuating the freon.

How would such a tool allow changing the Schrader W/O venting the refrigerant?

Yellow Jacket calls theirs "RealTorque® Core Removal Tools" and it is a minimal gas loss valve replacement tool.
