87 Trans am code 36 after installing new MAF sensor

I had a code 33 so I installed a brand new MAF, which then took away the code. But now its showing a code 36 that wasnt there before, which i believe is something to do with the burn off circuit? I bought this MAF sensor specifically because people said it works with the burn off circuit. What things should I check?

Check the burn-off relay. Pretty common source of failure in that system as I understand it.

Of course, if your new MAF doesn't use the burn-off technique (which only applies to the old "hot wire" design), for example such as the newer "card" style MAFs, then it doesn't matter, if you tune it out. Which is fairly eeeeezzzzzy... all you need is, a good knowledge of the machine code in the PROM, a PROM burner, and your knowledge of how to tell the ECM to quit checking for that.
