1987 305

I have a 1987 190 hp 305 TPI I want some more hp out of. I have used it as is except chinese rpm copy, holley 3310 and hei. It runs great but want some more hp. Have everything except cam already.
Goal is 270 hp+
stock shortblock
1094 head gaskets
trickflow 305 175 cc heads
edelbrock eps intake
holley 3310(might swap to a smaller in the future)
hei
comp cams 1.6 roller rockers

th700 stock converter
3.31 rear gears
3400 lbs Chevelle

Narrowed down to this cams

So should I get the sum 8800
Pro SBC Stage 1 Hyd. Roller Cam, 204/214 Dur., 112 LSA + 1 Adv, .450/.450 1.5 Ratio, .480/.480 1.6 Ratio

Or
264/270 212/218@050 .488/.495(.520/.528 with 1.6 rockers)112 ls cam instead
To big with stock converter?
Or
258/264 206/212@050 .480/.488(.512/.520 with 1.6 rockers) 112 ls

Re: 1987 305

I remember a few articles about building a 305, and I found them entertaining to read. Check out this one:
https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/07...block-bolt-ons
They matched the Trick Flow 175cc heads with a TFS-K3140100 cam.(212/214 110 LSA).

Here is another:
https://www.hotrod.com/how-to/ccrp-9...k-engine-build
They matched chevy truck L31 Vortec Heads with a comp cam XE262H-10 (218/224 110 LSA)

None of the above. LPE 74219 advanced 4°. 305s love single pattern cams around 220 @ 0.050 and more lift. Take advantage of the flow those TFS heads have at higher lift. I would actually even go more with small blocks like single pattern grinds over dual pattern cams and dual patterns are kind of pointless with aftermarket heads and headers/good exhaust system.
