Clutch pedal plastic grommet 1988 Trans AM

Hello thirdgen friends,
I have a 1988 Firebird Trans Am with a manual transmission and t- tops. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find the clutch pedal bushing/grommet that keeps the clutch pedal attached to the bracket assembly under the dash.
This particular bushing/grommet goes through the hole of the shifting rod under the dash below the steering column. The rod then can snap onto the post of the clutch pedal assembly/bracket to keep it from falling while pressing the clutch pedal during shifting.
Thanks for your help
Regards.

Re: Clutch pedal plastic grommet 1988 Trans AM

I had an issue w that little plastic grommet a few years ago and ended up using the same metal clip that holds the brake booster rod to the brake pedal. I trimmed the retainer bushing a little so I could retain it for bushing purposes and not for retention.i went this direction because I was driving home and the plastic clip broke and the rod popped of the clutch. I could pull over and clip it back on but it kept popping off. So I got some good practice rev matching. After that I went to the metal clip.

I have done this. Also, I have turned a bronze bushing and non-precision machined it when the plastic couldn't be re-used as a bushing.
