1985 Firebird clutch not working

Hey guys, this is my first time posting, so forgive me if this is in the wrong section.

While driving home last night, something regarding my clutch snapped and the pedal simply hung loose and would sway back and forth as if the pushrod wasn't attached at all. Needless to say, it was fun getting home.

After looking under the dash at the pedal and pushrod assembly, I noticed that the pushrod retaining clip (I've heard it called a clutch collar before) had snapped and was not attached to the pedal any longer. I called around to a few local auto parts stores and none of them carry that small piece. I tried to fashion some zip ties around the pushrod and clutch pedal to hold it for the time being while I wait for that piece to come in the mail (I'm about to order it) But now, even when the pushrod is in-tact and moving properly, the clutch does nothing. I can't start my car at all.

I'm still learning, so forgive me if it's something simple, but is there something else I am missing? It doesn't appear that anything else is broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the engine doesn't crank, check the neutral safety switch and related wires. They are all down by the pedal and clutch rod.
