Your Cyl heads?

come on guys, what is everyone usin' for heads? I'm lookin' for suggestions for an L98..tell me what you've got/how much/where you got it from! ;>

for your L98, I'd keep your stock heads and port them or have them ported.

How much power will porting them add? and will that be more than say..anything else if I had 1k-1.4k to spend? ;>

I would guess about 25 hp. It is kind of synergistic, though. When you also add headers and a cam it will allow them to work to their maximum potential and add up to more than they would if done only one at a time without the head work.

How does that compare to just buying performance heads? I am buying parts to do a rebuild..looking for a good cam and heads/exhaust headers..

well, if you can port your heads yourself, it's definately cheaper, basically free! Sitting Bull is correct that adding a cam and headers will increase the gains you get from porting. Check a summit catalog to pick a cam, there are so many things to think about when choosing... like how you drive the car, how far you drive etc...

getting something in the 215-220 duration at .050" with like 112 lobe separation might make you happy, but I don't know what you're looking for. after porting, aforementioned cam, and headers, expect like 50-75 extra horses over stock, a great improvement for not much money.
