I'm not sure exactly what piece you're talking about but I think you mean the really thin one on the top of the door at the bottom of the window that runs the length of the window. I just took all my weather stripping off for my soon to be new paint job. I took the door panel off and then you have to use a combo of sockets and open end wrenches to remove like 5 small 7mm? bolts on the inside of the door.
If this isn't the weatherstripping you were talking about just clarify which one and I'll let you know.

yea that is the piece im talking about above the door at the bottom of the glass. so i have to take the door panel off to put new ones on? how long does it take? What is involved to take it off the door panel?
i took off the weather stripping off my 84 camaro and it wasnt hard at all, some of the screws you'll be taking out are dumby heads so you got watch out for them
this is what i did with my car that had power windows and power locks.
first, take off the armrest assembly screws,
second, remove the screws retaining the remote mirror control switch panel and the snap panel behind it.
third, remove the screws retaining the power door lock switch panel to the trim panel, and disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the door lock switch
fourth, remove the screws retainging the remote door handle trim panel, turn the panel about 60 degrees to clear the remote control handle.
fifth, remove the door panel which is attached to the door with plastic retainging clips, you should insert a flat, blunt tool and pry away the clips.
after that rest is pretty staight forward.
