my E.T.
my E.T.
i have a 91 RS 305 TBI which runs about a 10 minute quarter mile. I plan on swapin to a 350 with AFR 190 heads,218/218 .500 lift cam,454 tbi with #90 injectors, edelbrock tbi manifold bored to fit 454, a set of SLP 1 5/8 headers, and definanly a costum prom.....the cam i am still desciding tho. Suspenson wise i will have KYB shocks, hotchis springs, Lake wood LCA's, Panrod, adjustable torgue arm and i will have 3.73 posi in my rear. will be subracting some wieght from my car too but what kind of HP or E.T. you think i will have?
?
are you guys joking me...i thought high 12's, low 13's for sure!Whats missing.....ppl have done this set up and got 400+ HP. I really want to get into 12's with street tires. What would you guys suggest to change in myset up to get me there

I don't see you making 400 HP with that cam. Of course I'm no expert. What about exhaust I see headers, but how about the cat back?
I just noticed you have 3:73s I'd put you at mid 13s then. A higher stall TC would get you to 12's easy I would think.

With those injectors, the ABSOLUTE maximum HP you can achieve is 360 HP (HP=(InjectorSize x # injectors) / .5). That would be at 100% DC and everything optimized.

Considering stock 454 TBI injectors are 80#, you're not gaining much there.
That's not a bad formula. 80# injectors works out to 320hp. NHRA has factored my 454SS truck at 310hp. Probably why you don't see any 90-93 454SS trucks running in CT/SA class. It's too hard to compete with the Dakotas.
If you don't want to convert to TPI and still want to be different, why not get a dual 4 barrel low profile manifold and mount two 350 TBI's on it.

well you guys have to understand that i live in CA so i have to obey all this gay smog crap. i dont really have the money or knowledge to swap to TPI so i am trying to make the best with TBI. i already have the cat back and do plan on higher stall speed TC. But do guys think with the set up i have stated that i could squeze in 12's?

Your best chance at squeezing into the 12s will be if you learn how to burn your own eprom since you can optimize the tuning (especially the spark tables) to develop maximum power. With a "purchased" eprom, all bets are off. I have yet to find a "custom eprom" that I couldn't improve upon. This includes Ed Wright (Fast Chips), Performance Resources and Jim Formato.
Hyperjunk, ADS and Jet are a joke.

alright well i guess some ppl have convinced me to go with a super ram intake and ditch the tbi. and now another question AFR 190's or Fast Burns? I live in CA so emmissions are an issue. Also some one said some thing about my cam choice so any body know good cam for my emmisions problems. remeber i am looking for 12's
