350 heads on a 305

would this work? a friend of mine reccomended this to me and I figured i would ask you all. at the moment i'm trying to find out a cheap way to put better heads on my 305.

any and all help is greatly appreciated

Just port and polish your current heads and then have the intake valve reemed out to 1.94 inches. Should be good for a nice 25hp boost

Stock 305 heads are 58cc combustion chambers, while stock 350 heads are 64cc. If you put 350 heads on a 305, you will lower your compression. Exactly how much, I don't know, but I think about 1point. (9.5:1 to 8.5:1).

Only exception is the Aluminum Corvette heads, they used 58cc chambers on them, yet they don't have an exhaust crossover in them to allow use of the EGR valve.
