Engine, Dash, ANd CLINKS!
Hey,
I need some info,
I got a 305 TBI (not sure exact amount of HP) but sometimes ill drive for a bit (its very cold here btw).. and ill start to smell a big of oil, u know running rich I guess, and behind my dash there is a small "click click click" noise that comes out, my Km/per/gas gauge gets stuck on 256 or something so thats why its clicking I guess, BUT also when I take a turn when im going slowly lets say "SOMETIMES" ill hear a Clink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont like hearing clinks in my car when it comes to stearing!
any ideas about the:
1. Engine running rich
2. Strange clicking noises behind my gauges
3. the clink noises when I take turns "SOMETIMES"

Dave,
The oil odor is not caused by a rich fuel mixture. It would more likely be caused by an oil leak that allows oil to burn away on exhaust manifolds or heads. You may also have a PCV problem allowing oil vapor to escape rather than be drawn into the intake for combustion.
The ticking behind the instrument cluster is likely the speedometer reading the VSS pulses, or the cable hanging up in the housing. Since you're always going 256 kpH, you shouldn't be staring at the speedometer anyway. There is a good chance that the digital dash is not getting the correct signals from the VSS.
The noises on turning should be investigated soon. Raise the car and set it on jack stands. Have an assistant slowly turn the wheelsn while you watch all components of the steering and suspension. Try wiggling the idler arm, steering )Pittman) arm, tie rods, and drag (center) link. Any loosenes should be corrected, which usually means replacement of the worn parts. You son;t want to lose steerign control at 256 kpH...

hahaha hey thanks for the info!
But im not going 256km!
u know how you have your km/drivern gauge.
Than below it you have the push-one, to see how many Km/to the full tank, that one gets stuck and makes a clicking noise.
I cant check the car out my self.
I got no tools or nothing
But thanks anyways!
