Axle/Gears: 3:27 Borg Warner

Oil Press Gauge tweaking

I have an 85 T/A 305 TPI.
Today the oil press gauge was acting up by shaking and not reading correctly then at any RPM besides idle it spikes to the 3 o'clock position and stays there. On idle it reads 6 o'clock. Do I need a new sending unit ?

it could be the sending unit, but it could also be a ground in the wire somewhere where the cover has rubbed off of the wire.
