huge problem guys (sorta long)
ok, so the guy who was suposed to put my motor back in tried to **** me over by putting the old oil filter back on my new motor, when it came with a brand new one!! to make a long story short, I got pissed at the guy and finish the install myself, go to prime the motor and had an oil leak. . so I get under the car and look to see where it is coming from, and see the old filter. ****!!!! . . that filter came off a motor that had a HUGE knock and shaved a good 1/4 inch off the crank. so now I have TONS of metal in my brand new motor. what I need to know is how to get the metal out without having to drop my pan.
so far I drained the bad oil and put new oil in it, changed the filter and primed it again. I plan to do this a few more times before I attempt the start it, but if I put big magnets on the bottom of the pan (I have the industrial ones). . will that collect alot of the oil till I can get it outa there later on?? correct me if I am wrong, but even if the metal was ciculated, as long and no load is on the motor it should pass right through and I should be able to get it out, right? or is my motor toast before even being started???
I need to know, cuz don't have another 500 to have the motor pulled and put back in, or the 4000 to have another 383 built. . am I screwed???
thanks for the help.

it's not an oil pan issue, now you have a pull the engine and dissasemble issue. since you tried to prime it, you likely have it in most if not all of the oil galley's.
that is what I was worried about, so I was sayin, if I change the oil and filter and prime it like 5 times with new oil and filter, do you think I could get rid of it?? I mean the pieces of metal are pretty miniscule, like pieces of dust, but metal none the less.
