Who's built a 406?

Exactly that, I'm going to build one and was wondering about any problems with harmonic balancers and serpentine accessory belt drive and if there was any problems with balancing the motor for our application.

Not worried about intake, cam, or head selection, but what were any problems on the bottom end.

Thanks

connecting rod bolt to cam lobe clearance

if you use anything other than a stock rod or something that has been stroker clearanced.

Either internally balanance it or use a externally balanced flywheel and harmonic balancer. Its that simple.

The older heads dont have all the holes for the serpentine brackets. If you use a modern head the holes should all be there. The block already has the two bolt holes on each side for the brackets.

The larger balancer made slight contact with the oil cooler water lines. I just bent them a little for clearance.
