Vader - Request for your door lock doc.

My power door lock solenoids are in need of some attention. A while back you posted this link to a rebuild document. I have adobe and am still having problems with it loading. Has the location of this doc. changed? Thanks

Car: 88 IROC-Z
Engine: 383 Stroker
Transmission: TH350
I found a website called alldatadiy.com. I bought a subscription for my 88 IROC and one of the GM TSB's was for intermittent power door lock operation. It said the locking rods were a problem. So much so that GM made a new part to replace faulty locking rods to help fix the problem. It states that you can tell if this is the problem after door panel removal, by a gap between the rear end of the slot on the power door lock bellcrank and the bend on the door locking rod when in the locked position.

I don't know if they are still produced or not.

The part #s are
10131128 - right
10131129 - left

Here's the original thread. Vader's post is 3/4 of the way down.

Vader if you read this, that doc would help us out a lot.

Simon,

Sorry, I don't have a guide for repairing power door locks (yet). The link provided in that archived thread has changed since I changed ISPs since then. It was for power window repairs, and is at: Power Window Motors.pdf

That archived thread went off in a couple different directions, and I was responding to the window motor part.
