Whats this???
Hey everyone.
Me and my bro were installing my stereo when we found this dissconnected.. we didnt hook it up cause we didnt know exactly what it did, so we just left it. My SES light comes on usally on long drives.. does this have anything to do with it?
What are these parts?

If I had to guess I would say it's the wire for your heater fan. But I'm probably wrong. Have you ever disconnected it.

That is the Blower resistor module for the blower motor. Basically it has a bunch of coils of wire in it that will drop the amperage level that is fed to the blower motor when you turn on the HVAC system. If it is disconnected, the blower motor won't run except on its max high-speed (max-high has its own circuit with a relay in it that feeds full power to the blower motor so it is unaffected by this module).
If it is disconnected it might be shorted out and was blowing fuses on the previous owner..... I would plug it in and check the blower motor functions... If it blows fuses, just pick up a new one (around $12).
Hope that helps,
Matt

Dave, thats what they are trying to tell you...
That thingy that is disconnected it a resistor that limits the amount of juice you have going to your blower motor at the lower setting of use, when you flick it to "high" the juice bypasses that thingy and goes straight to the blower motor which is why it works...
It was probably dissconeected because it's blowing fuses, go out and replace it and hook it back up and enjoy being able to use the intermediate settings for your blower motor.
PS, you've got a blower motor weither you've got AC or not, something needs to blow that hot air into your car in the winter time.
I hope that helps you.
