Ummm. . . . Maybe???? No. . . .

I was flushing out my radiator and watching all the rust and crap flow out and then I thought. . . Can this be done to an engine? not the water passages in the block. But the oil. I mean, getting all the gunk out. the sludge.
I mean could I drain the oil, spray engine degresser down there and soak it, then flush with water, then put new oil in and run the engine until all the water burns away. Then drain the oil again and put new oil in? I mean, I dought the bearings would get all messed up. Sure, that's a lot of oil but. . .no more sludge.
Just a thought you know?

All that sludge is keeping the engine from knocking, leaking, and saving its life.
I would never use an engine flush in an older engine...at the most I would drop a half quart of trans fluid in there with the next oil change..it works pretty good.
My experience with any kind of motor flush or when you try to clean out an engine with solvents...the motor dies shortly after.
