whats the difference

whats the difference with mpfi,tpi,tbi what makes them diffrent i know mpfi is for 6 bangers only. but what else is the difference?

mainly the location and number of injectors

but, also the method the injectors are fired. Some are batch (all 8 are triggered at the same time regardless of piston location and valve opening). Others are sequential (true mpi), that fire the inj right b4 the intake valve opens.

tpi is the better one stock but is hard to modify

The terms TPI and MPFI have been used interchangably by GM on various brands and carlines.
