Which cam came stock in 85TPI engine

Which cam came stock in 85 305 TPI 700R-4 engines? Is it called "L69"? I know that in 86, these engines were de-tuned , lost 25 hp , and got the infamous " peanut cam". Also how would the LT1 cam run in this engine? Would there be a loss of bottom end torque and a gain in midrange / upper rpm ( 2500-5500)?Thanks in advance.

It isn't the L69 cam, but it is similar. The LT1 cam would run pretty well..you could definitely get more higher rpm power, but you'd have to do something about your intake to allow it to breathe up there. No loss of bottom end, the LT1s made just as much torque as the fastest L98s, and more horsepower. They are pretty good cams.

It is the L69 cam that is in the 85 TPI's, both have the same part number. You cant put a LT1 cam in there either, the LT1 is a roller cam that needs a roller block, and you dont have a roller block.

Thanks, guys. I assumed it was the L69. Does anyone know the specs on this cam . I'm curious, how is this cam viewed in terms of performance, mild / moderate / etc? It does have a SLIGHTLY uneven idle, but is still quite smooth. Thanks in advance

It is weenie but less embarrassing than the "peanut" one.
