LT1 and L98(out of 91 Z28) shortblocks interchangable?

Engine: 5.7L TPI
Transmission: TH700-R4
LT1 and L98(out of 91 Z28) shortblocks interchangable?

I have an LT1 shortblock and wanted to swap it in place of my L98shortblock and wanted to know if they are completley interchangable?

The LT1 heads aren't going to mate with your L98 intake, but the L98 heads SHOULD bolt to the LT1 case. Watch out for the oil pump and distributor drives on the LT1, however.

Oh, and the coolant pump from the L98 won't fit the front of the LT1 case, and the timing cover won't cover the opening either. Other than that, they're almost identical:
