fuel pump problems
fuel pump problems
i did my engine swap this weekend and it seems that the rod that pumps the manual fuel pump is jammed.....any ideas how to remedy this? quick answers would be nice since this is my only mode of transportation.

Rotate the engine with the pump, and mounting plate off. The fuel pump is powered by the cam, and it has it's own lobe to push the rod out, and a spring on the pump lever pushes it back in.

That sucker should move in & out freely, so it's sound like it's gauling in the passage.
I would rotate it out with a pair plyers, and just replace it.
Moroso sells a lite wieght fuel rod, that's real nice.
Make sure you pack some greese in there to hold in, so you can get the pump on.
(BTW: if it's right, the rod will slide out on it's own from gravity when you push it in)
