BEFORE:
My best previous run was 9.02 @76.52 mph with a 60' of 2.14 on an 1/8th mile track. Temperature that day was about 50 degrees.
My best 60' ever was a 1.996 at a good track.
AFTER
1)Replaced Bosch +4 plugs with the ones that came in it when I got it...AC Delcos.
2)New Cap and Rotor
3)Removed AIR stuff, piping, smog pump.
4)New EGR valve, MAT sensor, fixed some vaccum leaks
5)Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator (Holley). Don't know original fuel pressure
6) New Accel Intake
7) New Accel Runners
8) Ported Plenum to try and match runners
9) 180 degree thermostat
10) Set initial timing at 8degrees before TDC...previously it was 6.
B]MY OTHER MODS[/B]
1)No catalytic converter...3 inch pipe
2) Accel 8.8 mm spark plug wires
3) K&N filter
4) MAF screens removed
5) TPIS Air Foil
6) Rebuilt trans (shifts really well...no problems
7) Hypertech chip
TRACK TEST & RESULTS
Idles much better...smoother. Had to set TPS sensor by just making the service engine light code go away (Code 22). Couldn't figure out how to check voltage.
Ran 5 times...all regular street tires. I think they are Dunlops with some tread still on them.
1) 9.063 @ 76.27 mph with 60' of 2.026...this run was done as soon as I pulled in. Drove about 50 miles to track...I think fuel pressure was 41psi (?) Time was 1:34pm Took off pretty much at idle. Let it shift on its own...bout 5000rpm
2) 9.045 @ 76.24 mph with a 60' time of 2.049...time was 2:47pm. Set fuel pressure up higher...49 psi (?). Left vaccum line off of AFPR. I guess it didn't make much difference.
3) 9.137 @ 75.51 mph with a 60' pf 2.07...time was 3:49pm. Left fuel pressure same. Attached vaccum line. manually shifted at 5500 rpm. Ran through in 2nd gear. Usually it shifts into third before line.
4)9.088 @ 76.05 mph with a 60' of 2.020...time was 4:50pm. Fuel pressure set at 47psi. Manually shifted into 2nd. At the 5200rpm I shift. It shifted at about 5500. Let it shift on its own into third. Shifted at about 4800 I think. I power braked it a little this time.
5) 9.048 @ 76.15 mphwith a 60' of 2.009...time was 5:07pm. All I did was go back around to race again. Manually shifted into 2nd. Shifted at 4900....It shifted at 5200rpm. Let it shift on its iwn into third.
Tire pressures...unknown.
Fuel tank was FULL. I had put some injector cleaner and Octane Boost in it. I figured best to put it in a full tank.
Car has stock coil. Stock rearend 3.27 gear. Stock exhaust manifolds. It is a GTA full loaded.
I obviously was hoping for better than what I did. Any reason why I didn't get better times??? I didn't break my 60' time, my 8th mile time, nor my mph best.
Would the full tank weigh me down that much? Back off timing? Coil not sufficient? I had positive traction during burnout to clean off tires. I felt like only my right tire was trying to break loose on my shifts. Also would hear a somewhat loud knock in my right rear area. Once I heard what sounded like a clicking too. Maybe losing postive traction or loose suspension? Can my exhaust manifolds be holdong me back from ANY improvement?
Any suggestions on what to do, or why I didn't have better times would be appreciated.

You need to tell us all the differences between the two runs, temp. humidity, same track, same altitude? Did you have a full tank of gas last time? My car likes around 12-13 deg of timing, A good aftermarket coill would be good idea as well as headers.

Headers will help a little, but don't expect big gains. To get any kind of big gain, you will have to make the "system" breath. That means heads and cam. The intake and exaust are good to have, but until the heads and cam are done (and a torque convertor to match the cam) you won't get big results. By the numbers you ran, you're probably pretty much the same. Also, by not plugging in the vacuum line to the AFPR, you'll run rich at idle, but it won't help at WOT.
The 9.02 run was with about 5 gallons in the tank. Hypertech chip.
My temp guage isn't working right now...so I don't know from last weekend what it was. I think the 9.02 run was probably about 180-190.
I have noticed that anytime I go to the track...my best time is usually my first run...for what its worth.
Differences in runs I don't know. Temperatue about 20degrees warmer this past weekend. Humidity probably the same. Different track. 9.02 run was at a higher altitude, but probably not much higher (talikng feet in hundreds). The track form this past weekend is a much better track...lots of fast cars. the track I ran 9.02 on is a track that is almost illegal. Just a man's property with an old airstrip he has turned into a track. I did not have a full tank of gas last time.
I have done a compression check on the 1-4 cylinders. 155-160.
I stopped at the #4 due to difficulty. I might try again since AIR stuff is removed. Should be easier now.
