oil ?????

hey all

in the Z28 i just bought, i went to check the oil, and the first time i pulled the dipstick out, it said add a quart

then i put the dipstick back in, pulled it out and it said it was full



and yes i cleaned it off between checks

maybe on the firt time the dip stick was not all the way in....mine does this some times, jiggel it and puch sometime it does not go all the way down.

yeah i tried this


sometimes it would come out reading enough

and sometimes it would say not enough

RS,

Check the oil level cold, before the engine has been run at all. If you have any drainback problems, you may get varying readings. You should also make certain the dipstick is straight, and the "cup" that covers the dipstick tube in the block is fully seated.
