Electric Fan
I've got an 86 T/A that is in the process of being rebuilt. My question is can I still run the electric fan without the computer?
All emissions have been dumped. It's just a LG4 5 speed car,but for now it will have to be an auto
I don't have the money to buy the 5 speed but I do have a good 700r4 from my 84 T/A.Any help would be appreciated.

Sure you can run the fan without the computer... though I believe you'd have to do it manually. You can wire a switch to the fans to turn em on and off... you could also try getting a Hypertech Cool Air Fan switch that activates the fans at a preset temp... but I dunno if they'll work without a computer. In my car, I wired a switch to manually turn the fans on/off, but the computer is still hooked up to them so they are still activated by the computer when the preset temp comes on.

Yes you can. The computer turns on the primary fan in dual fan setups. Either setup you have all you have to do is use the sensor on the passenger side of the block. This is the secondary sensor and it is wired directly to the secondary fan relay. I will need a little more information but it is a piece of cake. Put up another posting and I will be glad to walk you through it. Danno
