Headlight Dimmer switch WONT WORK!! HELP VADER!!

Ok, along with all my other problems, my car recently got broken into, and insurence paid to have it all fixed by some place, well they screwed up ALOT of stuff. One of the MANY things they screwed up was the HeadLight dimmer switch. They replaced part of the steering column with a new unit, INCLUDING the turn signal assembly and lever. WHen i turned on the lights tonight i realized that the brights were on, so i pulled on the lever and nothing happen, i figured they screwed it up, so i pulled the wheel and turn signal assembly tonight and realized that the peice attachted to the turn signal\dimmer lever\handle which actualy pushes on the button INSIDE the steering column, doesn't push the button far enough down to make it pop back up.. (THIS PROBABLY SOUNDS LIKE GIBERISH, BUT ANYONE WHO HAS DONE THIS HOPEFULY KNOWS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT )

does anyone have any clue if something can be adjusted or whatever? The turn signal\dimmer handle is brand new, as is the turn signal assembly and part of the steering column.

Your dimmer switch is located on the left side of the column.
It is probably just out of adjustment (it has slotted mounting
holes). Just loosen the screws and slide it higher or lower on the column and check the high/low beam switch . When it works properly, tighten the screws and re-check operation.

They are on the outside. The high/low beam lever pushes a
rod which pushes the actual switch which is mounted to the column.
