Hey

I have a 1985 IROC Z Camaro with a LB9 engine. I am planning on getting these SLP runners for my car. What will they do. Is there anyway that they can wreck the engine. Thanks

"wreck the engine"... LOL. Nah... not putting oil in the engine is something that would "wreck the engine." I could think of worse things... LOL

Wreck it? No. Be of any benefit at all? No. That's too much runner for a stock 305, and when you combine it with the stock baseplate, it will provide absolutely no upper rpm benefit, but will probably hurt your low end torque.

I know that it wouldnt wreck the engine. I ment to say would I be a waste of money. It sounds like u guys think that it would be a waste. If I wanted to upgrade the runners, what should I be using. U say that is to big. Well then what should I use. Thanks

Honestly, the runners should be one of the last things you upgrade on a 305. Remember, the stock 350 breathes through the same intake. Your money would be better spent on some other upgrade, such as headers and exhaust.

What should you be using? the stock runners. Upgrade your exhaust first.

Why is only one of the pair of runners siamesed on the bottom?

Got those on the 406 I've got in my 88 Cutlass Supreme.
Made a nice difference in higher RPM breathing, also intake sounds different at Higher RPM
Of course there's a bit more engine to feed with a 406

You should really look at exhaust first, and maybe a cam before you mess with the intake.

If I was the owner of SLP, I'd fire my advertising department. This picture portrays their product poorly.

Is craftsmanship that poor with SLPs?

Yeah, I was wondering about those runners and the siamesing. Mine don't look like that; they are siamesed on top only, and not as much as those are.

I emailed SLP about that, they said that they have spend alot of time on the dynos. and for some reason they said that setup works better than all siamesed. I dunno though. I should be getting mine this week. I don't know if they will be like that or not
