Check this out is this true about LT1 intakes?

K so Im talking to the guy at http://www.force-efi.com/ about his setup that I can pick up for 1200 bucks picture below, and that it will out perform a miniram and this one comes with a TB.

well I mention to him im swinging towards the miniram and then have recently seen the LT1 conversion kit, he tells me he is almost 99.9% positive that the LT1 ports are a differnt size then our L98s, he says he is gonna go swing out to the parts store and check out a set of L98 gaskets and LT1 gaskets, just cause its gonna bug him. Does anyone have any info on this?

Ok, went out to the garage where I had my LT1 intake and stock baseplate, and a ported stock baseplate sitting next to each other. The LT1 port is the same width as the L98 port, but taller by about .25 inches (1/8 inch on each end). Nothing a good port match won't fix. Matter of fact my ported intake was ported to almost exactly the same size as the LT1 port (actually larger by about .1 inch) so I don't think that is any real issue with this swap. Just port match it to your heads and away you go. If you're using any kind of larger port aftermarket head you'll have even less of an issue, you might have to port the intake to match the heads instead. Hope this answers your question.

ports are the same. Intake bolt holes are different. LT4 intake ports are taller and notched in the center on top to direct fuel spray flow. I scanned these in a couple years ago.

I looked at that "GTO" article, Tas. Why can't they just let the names die? The GTO was so cool, but let it be. The new one will never match the old so why sully the name? Chevy is doing the same thing with the Bel Air Why do I think that something new will not compare to a 57 or a 55, 56?
