I heard from someone that disconnecting your alternator can give you a gain of 3 to 4 tenths of second in your ET. I don't now if this is true, but if any of you have ever tried this before and gained some time, get back to me.

You might gain a hundreth from the reduced load on the engine.
You can lose a few tenths from the reduced voltage to computer-controlled, voltage-sensitive items.
Keep the belt on.

you may quite possibly pick up a tenth or two if you are running a good battery, but with a not so good battery your defeating your purpose.
