Fuel Pump Help Needed!!!
I just bought a wrecked 97 Z28 with a LT-1. It will start and run if I give it a shot of fuel into the throttle body, but dies when the fuel runs out. I've checked the fuses and the fuel lines and they don't look restricted. There is also gas in the tank. I cannot hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key on. Is there a fuel pump reset? What else am I missing? I'm pulling the engine and going to scrap the car, but I'd like to get the engine running first. I know this is a forth gen car, but the profit off of this is going to funding the 89 Iroc.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

70,
To my knowledge, there is no fuel pump "reset" on your '97 like there is on many Fords. Check the fuses in the UEC panel. The fuel pump relay is also located there. In either case, you should be able to provide power to the pump at the UEC. There is no pump monitoring terminal on your '97 like there is on a ThirdGen or other OBD-1 car.

Vade is right. 97 should be OBD-2 diagnostics. Are you throwing a MIL light. You will need an OBD-2 tester if you want to read any codes. If you can find the fuel pump realy you can jump the two heavier wires and feed 12 volts directly to the pump. Before you do anything however I would urge you to pick up a Chilton manual to be sure what wires are correct. It is an inexpensive 12-15 bucks for the info you will get. LOL
