New starter...no juice...

I posted on the electrical page, but no hits so far. I need help. I replaced my starter and when I turn the key I get nothing. The battery is new so thats not the problem. Theres a couple of wires hanging around the starter but I didn't notice them when I disconnected the old one. I only connected two wires to the solenoid, do the other two come into play somehow?

Why did you replace the starter? I'm fairly sure that you need to connect those extra wires to something. If they're red/pink I'm very sure.

Fer sure....the purple wire connects to small terminal marked 'S'; the power wire from the battery and the remaining red wires connect to the large terminal.

Thanx for the reply guys. I got it figured out and it's runnin just fine. I replaced the old starter cause it was getting a little slow. Maybe old, or maybe a little oil in the windings, who knows.
