Exuse my ignorence but i need help on removine the computer!!!

I would LOVE to know exactly what the computer/ECM controled on my '86 Z-28! I want to totaly simplify it. I need to know if I will lose A/C or heat. I need to know EVERYTHING!

I know I need vacuum edvance dist., non-cc carb, and torque lockup switch.

Is there anything else??!! Will I lose anything??

ANY info would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!

easiest way would be to buy an older car with no computer. There is too much to switch to take the computer out to make it worth the time/money.

The computer controls the fuel mixture, spark curves, and the emissions control equipment. You won't lose a/c or heat but your car will lose its emissions "legality". THere's a ton of crap to remove along with the computer stuff itself and said above its not worth the hassle.

You will for sure need a pair of wire cutters... after my swap from 2.8 to 327 I have a total of 7 wires connected. compared to 700..:lala:

Well, I do not have to deal with emmisions here so thats out of the question.

The only things you have to remove is the wiring harness. And the smog crap. Thats not a ton. And plus theres not a motor in the car (undergoing a swap) so it will be easier. Ive already removed the ECM and all the wires are just sitting in the engine bay.

I think thats all you have to remove anyway

I unplugged my computer and pulled the wires through the fender then just cut every single wire that went into the engine from the computer. I honestly had no clue what I was doing at first and prayed my car would work. It did ....I gotta scan the before/during/after pictures.
