Vader------------>code 43 still!!!????
Vader------------>code 43 still!!!????
I haven't had much time to say thank you for the help. Um...how would i check to see if my connection is bad for my knock sensor? I just took out my old one today and replaced it with a new one and still have code 43, but now code 42 doesn't appear. hmm..got rid of one code anyhow. I think the wire is blue but i don't know how to test it to see if it is working right. You had said something about HEI, i have no clue about that or where it is at, details would help about how to check it and what wires to check and how. I have very bad throttle response and sluggish performance. Would any of the following above cause this to happen?
And last, how do i manually open that black vacume canistor for my heat to work? I took it off and seen nothing to manually operate it. I look inside of it and see that one of the hoses is blocked off by a metal retainer that must get moved when vacume is presented. I tried to open it but don't know how. All I know is that when i plug the little vacume line going to that black thing, i get warm air, but not hot. I would really appreciate details on help. You may save me some serious money and agrivation. Thank you very much.

91,
The '43' is for an "ESC control failure - Spark retard too long" or "Detonation Sensor Signal" problem. Either of these are related to the detonation sensor. You need to closely inspect the electrical connections at the sensor and at the distributor. Also make sure the engine and ECM grounds are clean and tight. A failing HEI module can also set this DTC depending on failure mode.

I appreciate the reply and help. But now how can i actually check to see if it is sending signals? I am pretty stupid when it comes to electrical things like knock sensor and distributor. And how can I check the HEI modual, and where is it at (not familiar with HEI)? And last, what about my heat? I explain in my first post above.
thanks
thanks
