Rust in water
Rust in water
How can I fix this. Ive flushed it out a few times, but eventually it comes back. I have an autozone radiator and waterpump.
I use about 30%-50% antifreeze with the water. Once for about 2 weeks I used straight water but then added antifreeze.

if you going to run straight water you have to run redline water wetter in it to prevent corrosion of the passages..........and never ever EVER run tap water.........distilled only, dont want all those minerals in your motor............
If it rusted before your water pump and engine probably both have plenty of rust built up now. You have to use some sort of flush to clean it out, and then make sure you run a good amount of coolant. Switching to the newer dexcool would help.

I dunno; I always use tap, and whenever I pull off a hose, it's always filled at the end with white crusty mineral deposits. I hear those can even take out a water pump front seal! 'Course, I haven't bothered to pick up distilled water yet, but I think if we have access to it, we should definately use it...
