Best oil for AN fittings

I know when tightening An fittings you should use a light oil to prevent galling and to get better torque reading ,But what kind of oil? can I just use a little Motor oil on the fittings or does it need to be something special what about tapping oil?

I use 30 wieght to assemble the AN fittings. I don't use any oil to connect the AN fittings to a pipe end or what not.

At least you're not wasting that $20 petroleum jelly to lube those $900 toilet seats, then "realign" them with the $500 hammer...

You MUST be doing it the right way, since we all know what the "AN" originally designated, right? At least that SHOULD have been in the training. I know you have to be pretty careful about mixing compatible products in those critical systems. What are you using on synthetic/glycol hydraulic fittings?

I'm not sure what hydro shop or life support uses on it's AN fittings, my job is "aircraft fuels system mantance" and JP-8 exposed components get petrolatem and parts that are exposed to H-70(hydrozine (sp???)) are installed dry and replaced often. And by the way to cut costs our shop gets a tool budget and we buy our own tools (wich we could take them home, but we cant) uasally snap-on or craftsman. And finally "AN" use to stand for army-navy but they changed it to mean Air Force-navy.
