high idle

I have a 91 ta 305 when it starts up from cold it high idles till the car reachs about 200 deg. havent driven in a while but if memory recalls it idles at about 1500-2000 grand and will not drop till car warms up. I recently had a new idle air control valve and coolant sensor put in before that it was worse. Sometimes it would never idle down because the loop would never close due to the coolent sensor. The car runs much better after the work was done but something still is not right any ideas or suggestions another sensor maybe? any of you had this problem?

91,

I'd suggest a thorough cleaning of the throttle body and IAC passages, then reset the throttle minimum air position. The idle is supposed to be high until the coolant temperature sensor starts to see some temperature increase, but your's may be a bit on the high end of the scale.
