i need speedo help ASAP!!!

ok i was putting in my new white face guages and i screwed up my speedo, the dial reads liek 2-5 mph less than it should be, the needle doesnt rests lower and closer to the reset than it used to. Is ther a way to reset or re-calibrate this, and how would i do it???? thanks you

Brit,

You may be able to carefully remove the indicator needle and reinstall it at the correct zero position. There should also be a compensating spring on the movement that will return the indicator to zero, but be careful in adjusting this spring since is affects the reading rate across the entire range. IIRC, it is a typical D'Arsonval meter movement.

vader,
i tried remove the needle, then placing it back where it was before, it jsut moved itself right back to where it shouldnt be. thsi spring, where is it located?
