timing chain cover please help fast
timing chain cover please help fast
i had to replace the timing chain in my car last night and everything went fine until it was time to put the cover back on. we got it off without taking the oil pan off now we can't get it back on. we are thinking about moving the steering/alternator bracket. do you think that would help? were trying to aviod having to drop the pan. please any other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
I am also in the middle of this fix and i really dont want to drop the pan either. Is there a way to replace the chain without dropping the oil pan?? and without any grinding or modifying anything
There is no way that I know of to put the cover back on with out droping the oil pan or grinding the ears down on the cover. I have only been able to put a front cover on once without doing one of these two methods and I guess I just held my toung just right to get it on there.
