SES codes, need help
SES codes, need help
i got the codes, it's 12 and 36. I've read on the FAQ what they "mean" but they didn't really help. Anyone want to give me their guesses on what they most likely are? number 36 had like 5 choices... argh. i want my damn SES light to go away.
F91,
You have an '89 350 TPI, which means you are using a MAF sensor. The '36' in your case is for a failure of the MAF burnoff function. Inspect the electrical connector at the MAF sensor and open and inspect the relay contacts. You can get a replacement relay for about £6 ($10 US) if you suspect that, but either opening or metering the relay should give you an indication of its condition.
There are a couple of other remotely possible causes, by it's likely either the connections or relay.
