Some more clues to figure out my bad idle PLEASE HELP!!!???!!!???
ok, I thought my Jet Chip might have been the thing causing my idle surging, so I pulled my computer and took the chip out, and just plugged in the stock 305 chip to see how it acted.
Heres the symptoms
1) hadnt disconnected the battery to reset the computer (Yes I took out the chip with battery connected
) ...and well the thing crackled and popped REALLY bad, like continous when rolling w/ out foot on gas pedal
2) Disconnected battery to reset computer and crackling and popping was less, but was still more then when chip was in.
a) when cruising down a highway/larger road, at normal
speeds (maintaining 40-60? mph) I could feel the
surge then
3) I dont know if it is relavent, but my cruise control is a lil wierd, it works, but unless I am around 70+ trying to use it, it surges too, it lets it drop to rite below desired speed, then gives it gas till its rite about desired speed, over and over, unless on a hill or something that requires more push.

I would disconnect the battery overnight, just to make sure the BLM tables are cleared and the PROM gets a chance to sit under zero voltage (you may have spiked it when plugging in hot). Drive the car again, then scan for error codes.
Short of a diagnostic scan, that may be a good start to finding the problem. If you can, submit any data you have, such as fuel pressure, coolant temp, TPS voltage, etc.

My car had a similar problem at highway speeds, and it turned out to be faulty distributer cap.
As for the cruise control, I would be interested in finding a cure for the exact same problem.
